The Traveler Center Network

Think global, be local. The world is big, and TravelerCenter wants every traveler to feel local wherever they go: welcome, safe and well informed. The Traveler Center Network is how we get there: a worldwide community of places where travelers can walk in and get honest, reliable help from real people.

Why Traveler Centers matter

Apps and websites are a great start, but when you arrive somewhere new, nothing replaces a friendly person who knows the place: someone who can tell you which bus to take, where to eat tonight, which tour is worth it, or where to go if something goes wrong. Tourist information offices, visitor centers, traveler assistance desks and good local travel agencies do exactly that, every day, all over the world.

That is why our name is TravelerCenter. The traveler center is the idea at the heart of everything we build: the guides, the trip planner and the tools help you before you go, and the Traveler Center Network is there for you when you arrive.

Where we are today

Our Traveler Centers directory already lists 815 tourist information offices, visitor centers, assistance desks and travel agencies in 23 destinations, with more added every day. You can find one by city or near you, with the address, map and contact details. The listings come from OpenStreetMap, the free world map built by volunteers.

Where we are going: a certified global community

Next, we are building the network itself: Traveler Centers that join our community and are verified and certified by TravelerCenter. When you see a certified Traveler Center, you will know it is a place you can trust: a safe, welcoming place to get help, with real people, honest information and fair treatment for every traveler.

Certified Traveler Centers will meet clear standards, such as:

  • Verified and real: a confirmed address, opening hours and contact details, checked by our team.
  • Welcoming to every traveler: friendly help for visitors from anywhere, whatever their language, background or budget.
  • Honest information: accurate local advice, clear prices and no pressure to buy.
  • Ready to help: able to point travelers to emergency services, health care, transport and safe places to stay.
  • Part of the community: sharing local knowledge with TravelerCenter so our guides and planner stay up to date.

The certification program is in development. We will announce it here first.
